Asiya was born in Kachomo sub county, Budaka district in eastern Uganda.
She stays with her grandparents in a semi permanent house. Her mother and father separated and then abandoned Asiya. She was then left under the care of her grandparents who are very elderly people.
Her grandparents are peasant farmers. They depend on farming as a major source of income and food. They grow crops like, rice, maize, beans, millet, cassava and others on a small piece of land.
Asiya was born with Spina Bifida and hydrocephalus. She was operated on, however this was not successful and she is paralyzed from the waist down.
Asiya has 1 brother.
Her grandparents cannot afford to provide her with the basic needs like a quality education, medical care and clothing.
How would lcf help Asiya and her family.
Sponosrhsip would allow Asiya the chance to go to school and become somebody. She would be enrolled in our special education boarding school where she can thrive and be accepted for who she is. It would also take a very big weight off of Asiya’s grandparents as they are no longer able to adequately provide for Asiya. Your support towards this girl will be a blessing to the entire family.
